In a recently released statement, the Redskins announced that they have hired Torrian Gray as the team’s new defensive backs coach. An experienced team leader, 42-year-old Gray has overseen the defensive backfields of both collegiate and NFL programs.

During his 18-year career, Gray has served on the coaching staffs of the University of Maine, the University of Connecticut, and his alma mater, Virginia Tech. He most recently worked as the defensive backs coach at the University of Florida, where he helped guide players to first-team and second-team All-SEC honors.

Prior to launching his coaching career, Gray played at Virginia Tech and spent three seasons in the NFL. With the Redskins, he reunites with Kendall Fuller, a cornerback he coached for three years at Virginia Tech.
